About Us

Draca Marine was established in 2022 to take control of material supply and reduce reliance on external aggregate providers for concrete and asphalt operations. Born from a practical need and a sharp eye for opportunity, the company set out to produce and supply its own quality sands and aggregates direct from the North West.

Operating from Weston Point, Runcorn, Draca Marine has grown into a dynamic marine and material supply business — combining hands-on industry experience with a clear focus on reliability, sustainability, and delivery. The company’s foundations lie in groundworks and civil engineering, and that background continues to drive a strong focus on doing the job right, on time, and to spec.

The first major step was the acquisition of the Admiral Day, a grab hopper dredger refitted with a new Hitachi 350 excavator, on-board hydraulic pump system, and specialist attachments for precision dredging and material handling. The vessel quickly proved its worth, taking on challenging projects along the Manchester Ship Canal and within the River Mersey.

In 2023, the fleet expanded again with the addition of the MSC 48 dumb barge — a former Peel Ports vessel — fully refurbished and refitted to increase transport and operational capacity. With a growing fleet and a permanent base at Weston Point, Draca Marine now supports a wide range of dredging, aggregate production, and material transport operations across the North West and beyond.
